GetResponse

GetResponse Review

GetResponse is one of the industry's leading email autoresponder services, and the one we use to deliver our Happy Hour broadcasts. Both Traci and I have used several autoresponder services – including Aweber, Mailchimp and GVO – so we have some pretty good insight into what works best.

We've broken our review into 5 criteria… User Friendly, Deliverability, Looks, Functionality and Cost.

What are your thoughts about the new landing pages option in GetResponse? GetResponse VS Leadpages?

Hi Laurie, I tried the GetResponse landing pages when they first came out… they’re easy enough to use, I just didn’t really like the designs and found my optin rates weren’t as good as with LeadPages (of course there are a whole lot of variables that contribute to that, might not be the landing page’s fault 😉

While we love and highly recommend LeadPages, we also use OptimizePress 2.0 and Thrive Themes… both create beautiful landing pages and would probably choose those over the GR pages.

Hi Anika, I think Aweber and GetResponse are going to have roughly the same deliverability. The difference between hitting the inbox and disappearing into your prospect’s spam folder has a lot more to do with your own personal email practices.

A couple of easy things you can do to avoid the spam trap:

          1. Don’t use symbols or weird characters in your From name or h

2 Don’t send raw URLS in your email — use hyperlinks instead. If raw URLS (such as http://wwww.happyhourhangouts.com) rather than hyperlinks are included in your email, it can make your message look like a phishing attack.

          3. Ask people to reply to your emails. Service providers like Gmail track how people interact with your emails… when they flag your messages as important, forward them to friends and reply to you those are indicators that you’re sending good content and go a long way to landing you in the inbox!

A shorter answer to your question… I liked Aweber. I just found GetResponse easier to use and had some cool features I liked (like Time Machine for example). All things being equal, GR is cheaper… I’m always happy to save a few bucks 🙂

That being said, we now use Ontraport ($297 per month) so cost isn’t always the most important factor.

          Hope this helps!! xo Dawn

  2. Its a pretty good autoresponder service. I used it a few years ago steadily and liked the price point and features. At the time I LOVED the fact that they had a mobile app. Although I don’t use GetResponse now I’d still recommend it to others. Personally I think they’re in the top 5 of its class.
